Mishcon de Reya in association with UnLtd India, is hosting a celebratory drinks reception and fundraising event to mark UnLtd India's progress and achievements. Alpesh Patel will be hosting this event with Sukhvinder Kaur Stubbs as key note speaker.

Alpesh is a Principal and founder of Praefinium, an international asset management company. In 2005 he was appointed by the UK Government as 'Dealmaker': In that role he is responsible for searching for new technologies in India of exceptional potential and of strategic importance to the UK. His first stock market floatation was in January 2005 – AllTrue Investments Plc. He is also founder of AlpeshPatelSpreads.com – an online share betting company. Alpesh is a Board Member of the UK India Business Council and a Board Director of TiE-UK promoting entrepreneurship globally.

Alpesh started a weekly column in the Financial Times in 1999 as well as being a regular markets commentator on CNBC Asia, CNN, BBC. Alpesh also co-hosted a weekly show for three years on Bloomberg TV.

Alpesh is the author of 11 investment and business books published by Financial Times and McMillan translated into 8 languages. Alpesh has a degree in Philosophy, Politics, Economics from Oxford University and in Law from King's College, London. He is a non-practicing barrister. He is a Trustee of UnLtd India, Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts and Trustee of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) and a Governor of Bedfordshire University.

Sukhvinder is the chief executive of the Barrow Cadbury Trust and was awarded Woman of the Year by the Department of Trade and Industry-sponsored Asian Jewel Awards 2007. The Barrow Cadbury Trust, a grant-making foundation which seeks to encourage a just, equal, peaceful and democratic society. With an endowment of some £100m, the trust gives out grants to projects based in the UK, Europe and areas of conflict around the world.

Sukhvinder's background is in equality, social inclusion and community development. Previously, she ran the Runnymede Trust and was the elected and founding chairwoman of the European Network Against Racism. Prior to that, she worked for English Partnerships and the Community Development Foundation. Over the past 15 years, she has served on the boards of regeneration agencies including the Black Country Development Corporation and Advantage West Midlands.

Currently, she is a non-executive director of Severn Trent Water and a member of the government's Better Regulation Task Force where she is the chairwoman of their work in the voluntary and community sector.

For the past five years, Sukhvinder has written a weekly column for Regeneration magazine published by Haymarket.
